How It Works

Fabrication + Pod Assembly

  • Pods pre-assembled in factory.
  • Waterproofing, module level stringing and fixing holes completed.
  • Internal cable conduit, laser-cut holes and cleats fabricated with structural steel.

Foundations + Structure

  • Foundations surveyed and footings prepared.
  • Screw pile or bored piers installed, prefabricated reo cage with hold down bolts dropped into excavation and concrete poured.
  • Primary structure erected.

Pods installed

  • Pods lifted into place with either forklift or telehandler using specially designed lifting jig.
  • Pods fixed off, final electrical connections completed and gutter installed.
  • Inverter and switchboard connection completed and system commissioned.

How customised can we make the design?

We have three main types of column, single wing, double wing and double wing with central walkway. These three types of design fit most sites. We can customise the design if required, however it will increase the cost and it is worth considering at the outset if a custom design is actually required or not. In general, changing the structural steel is not a big problem and quite straight forward, as long as it works with our solar pods then the advantages of our prefabricated system still apply.

How much solar can you fit in a car park?

Usually we can fit twice as much solar in a car park as you can on the roof. Assuming standard car park width of 2.5m, we can fit 3kWp or 4kWp per car space, depending on the system configuration you choose.

How much does it cost?

Approximately $3 per watt or $9,000 per car-space turnkey.

What is your warranty?

The solar panels have a 30 year performance warranty, the structure has a 10 year workmanship warranty. The design life of the system is 30 years.

How fast is your system to install?

Very fast, around 3 times quicker to install than in-situ systems.

Are the panels hail rated?

All of our panels have an internationally accredited hail rating. For major hail storms you will likely damage panels that will need to be replaced.

Where does the power connect to?

The solar typically connects to the main switch board (MSB) of the building to off-set the building loads.

What are the optional extras you can supply?

Painting to any colour (usually suggest natural grey in a Dulux MIO paint). We always hot dip galvanise as standard, then whip-blast to roughen the surface, use an epoxy undercoat then a 2-pac polyurethane top-coat. It looks awesome but is expensive to complete. We also almost always install LED lighting (to PC1 requirement) and can install both AC and DC EV charging.
