THE PROJECT THAT PROVED THE MODULAR SYSTEM AT COMMERCIAL SCALE.

IGA Baranduda was Canyon Solar's first full-scale commercial project — the project that validated our prefabricated canopy product in the field. Installed over a six-week period, the system delivered valuable undercover parking, integrated lighting and undercover EV charging to the recently completed IGA Baranduda supermarket.

BACKGROUND

Johns Lyng Energy Services came to Canyon Solar in late 2022 for a waterproof solar canopy that could be deployed at a lower cost and more quickly than the custom-engineered solution they had been provided by a structural engineer. After Johns Lyng Energy Services secured the project and completed detailed structural engineering by an engineering consultant, it quickly became apparent that a project based on this design would cost significantly more than budgeted and require additional detailed engineering to complete.

Canyon Solar were able to adapt our modular product to the customer’s specific car park and accurately quote the full turnkey design, engineering, and installation of the solar canopy to JLES within a few weeks. This was Canyon’s first full-scale commercial project and was delivered within two months, during difficult cold conditions in Victoria and heavy rain.
